Preview: Nottingham Forest vs. Bournemouth - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Saturday's Championship clash between Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Nottingham Forest head into their Championship encounter with Bournemouth looking to respond to their last-gasp defeat at Coventry City last weekend.

Meanwhile, the visitors make the trip to the City Ground having posted a 2-2 draw against recently-relegated West Bromwich Albion on Friday.

For the majority of the game versus Coventry, manager Chris Hughton would have been satisfied with the efforts of a squad which is lacking new arrivals.

However, two late goals saw Forest succumb to a disappointing result at the home of the Sky Blues, leaving Hughton to further assess ways to make some much-needed signings.

Philip Zinckernagel and Jordi Osei-Tutu have arrived at the City Ground in recent days, two players which should add quality in attack and defence respectively.

The Forest fanbase expects more fresh faces, however, as they now look to build on Wednesday's 2-1 victory over Bradford City in the EFL Cup.

On the back of a loan period in Spain with Almeira, Joao Carvalho marked his return with a double which hinted that he could have a significant part to play going forward.

At a time when Forest have been forced to play two fixtures in just over 72 hours, Bournemouth have been able to rest after their entertaining draw with West Brom.

Aided by playing their EFL Cup tie with MK Dons before the start of the Championship, the Cherries twice went ahead before having to settle for a point.

On reflection, Scott Parker would have been satisfied with a share of the spoils after the Baggies warmed into the contest, but there are several areas for improvement.

The extended break has allowed Parker to get through plenty of work on the training ground, and Bournemouth will feel confident of overcoming opponents who have had minimal preparation time.

Team News

Forest will be without Gaetan Bong, who is currently serving a three-match suspension for violent conduct against Coventry.

Jack Colback could move into the left-back role, allowing Cafu to partner Ryan Yates in the centre of midfield.

Osei-Tutu may make his debut, but the likes of Carvalho and Zinckernagel could have to wait for their first Championship starts of the season.

With Jefferson Lerma continuing to serve a suspension, Parker may decide to name the same 11 players from Bournemouth's last fixture.

Despite the possibility of Arnaut Danjuma returning to the squad after a foot injury, the winger could start among the replacements ahead of a potential transfer later this month.

Nottingham Forest possible starting lineup:
Samba; Osei-Tutu, Figueiredo, McKenna, Colback; Yates, Cafu; Lolley, Johnson, Mighten; Taylor

Bournemouth possible starting lineup:
Travers; Smith, Mepham, Kelly, Zemura; Marcondes, Billing, Kilkenny; Brooks, Solanke, Anthony

We say: Nottingham Forest 1-2 Bournemouth

While Forest have the quality in their ranks to trouble their higher-quality opponents, the lack of rest could prove pivotal. With that in mind, we see the visitors outlasting Forest, eventually coming on strong during the second half to claim all three points.
