Neil Adams hopeful for Wes Hoolahan stay

Neil Adams says that he is eager to keep Wes Hoolahan at Norwich City beyond the end of the summer transfer window.

Norwich City manager Neil Adams has expressed his desire to keep hold of Wes Hoolahan this summer.

The 32-year-old has recently been linked with a move away from Carrow Road, with Aston Villa said to be interested in his services.

However, Adams has revealed that he would like the Republic of Ireland international to remain in Norfolk, despite the fact that he featured in just one of his five matches in charge last term.

"Wes knows what I think of him. I want to keep him here. I think he's a fantastic player. Similarly, I understand Wes had a bit of frustration around the transfer window time and it was difficult for him," said Adams.

"Do I want to keep Wes Hoolahan here next season for a Championship challenge? Of course I do. I think he's a fantastic player."

Hoolahan joined the Canaries from Blackpool back in 2008.
