Ben Tozer signs new Northampton Town deal

Northampton Town defender Ben Tozer signs a new two-year deal at Sixfields.

Northampton Town manager Aidy Boothroyd has confirmed that Ben Tozer has agreed a new two-year deal at Sixfields.

The 23-year-old, who joined the club from Newcastle United in 2011, will now remain at Northampton until at least the completion of the 2014-15 season.

"I'm delighted to get Ben re-signed. Ben has been a big part of what we have achieved so far and he is invaluable to us," Bothroyd told the club's official website.

"He is the right character, the right age and he is a player with a very bright future. He has a lot of experience under his belt, not too many 23-year-olds have played as many games as he has and he is capable of playing in more than position which is a huge attribute to have."

Tozer began his professional career at Swindon Town.
