Paulinho insists that he has "no problems" at Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho insists that he has "no problems" at the club, despite a stop-start first season at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho has insisted that there are "no problems" with him at the club, despite being on the bench for extended periods last season.

The Brazilian moved to White Hart Lane from Corinthians in a £17m deal last summer and, despite high expectations, the 25-year-old endured a stop-start campaign.

Paulinho has been linked with a possible move away from Spurs in the summer transfer window, but the Brazil international has insisted that he is happy and looking to improve next season.

"I had a period when I was at the bench, but it wasn't a problem for me," Paulinho told reporters. "At Corinthians, I had to wait for over a year to get on the starting lineup, when the team had the likes of Jucilei and Elias.

"Then, when there was a change of manager, I kept playing and I didn't have any problems with Tim Sherwood. Since I returned from injury I played three or four games.

"I then was dropped back to the bench but came back on the lineup for the final six games. There are no problems at all."

Paulinho made 30 appearances in all competitions for Spurs last season, scoring six goals.
