The FA's general secretary Alex Horne reiterates the organisation's desire to being goal-line technology into the Premier League.

The Football Association's general secretary Alex Horne has insisted that the organisation is ready to bring in goal-line technology.

Chelsea will become the first English club to play with a fully-operational goal-line system when they feature in the Club World Cup in December.

Horne claimed that using the technology "makes absolute sense" and revealed that the Premier League will be procuring the system in January. However, he stated that no other technology will be used as it would interrupt the game.

"The technology is fast and accurate, it's an aid to the referee and it makes absolute sense to me," Horne told The Times.

"But I would draw the line at that, personally I don't buy the argument that we're ready for technology to help with offsides, simulation or anything like that - because re-refereeing the game would really interrupt the flow.

"They're using it in the Club World Cup, the Premier League will be procuring it in January and we'll piggy-back with them to buy something for Wembley."

FIFA president Sepp Blatter praised the decision to allow the technology to be used in football.
