Swedish club Joenkoeping Soedra have denied reports claiming that Newcastle United have made an approach for teenage striker Branimir Hrgota.
The 19-year-old Swedish youth international is considered hot property after scoring 18 goals in 20 league starts last season.
While club director and head coach Hans Lindbom had hinted that the Magpies among others have watched Hrgota, he has insisted that no formal approach has been made.
"A lot of clubs have been to Sweden to see him," he told Sky Sports News.
"They have not approached at the moment, whether they have been watching I cannot say.
"He is a natural goalscorer, but not only that he reads the game well and for his age, I think he is one of the best I have seen."
Alan Pardew may be looking for attacking reinforcements in the summer as reports continue to link Demba Ba with a move away from Tyneside.
