Newcastle United have reportedly completed the loan signing of Roma striker Seydou Doumbia.
According to BBC Sport, terms of the deal have been finalised and all that is left is for the 28-year-old to pass his medical.
Doumbia only joined Roma this time last year from CSKA Moscow, who re-signed the Ivorian on loan for the first half of the season after he managed just two goals in his first six months with Roma.
Newcastle have already made the two biggest signings of the January transfer window with the £12m captures of Jonjo Shelvey and Andros Townsend, but Steve McClaren is yet to bolster his attack with a new striker.
The Magpies have regularly been linked with West Bromwich Albion's Saido Berahino, but the possibility of signing the Englishman looks slim and Doumbia's arrival might be the only addition to the frontline that is made on deadline day.
