Newcastle United's managing director praises Papiss Cisse after the Senegalese forward completes his move to the Magpies.

Newcastle United managing director Derek Llambias has praised the signing of Senegalese striker Papiss Cisse.

Cisse completed his move to Alan Pardew's side from Freiburg on Tuesday and Llambias believes that the 26-year-old can be a hit in the Premier League.

Llambias said: "We are very pleased to bring Papiss to the club.

"It is a signing which perfectly complements the type of side Alan is building, and we are sure he will prove to be an excellent acquisition going forward."

After signing the five-and-a-half-year deal, Cisse was required to quickly join up with the Senegal squad ahead of the African Cup of Nations.
