The visitors were ahead after only three minutes when Morgan De Sanctis put the ball into his own net following Eric Lamela's drilled cross.

Their lead was doubled on the hour after Pablo Osvaldo was on hand to tap in Francesco Totti's cross.

The hosts gave themselves a lifeline with seven minutes to go thanks to Marek Hamsik's low finish.

However, Luis Enrique's side put the game beyond doubt when Fabio Simplicio's shot was deflected in off Paolo Cannavaro.
