Motherwell sign former Manchester City goalkeeper Gunnar Nielsen on a two-year deal.

Motherwell have completed the signing of goalkeeper Gunnar Nielsen from Danish side Silkeborg.

Nielsen only signed for Silkeborg at the beginning of April, but he has now opted to make the move to Motherwell, with whom he spent time on loan in 2008.

The 26-year-old told the club's official website: "I'm really pleased to get this sorted and am looking to establish myself as number one and do really well.

"I'm delighted to be back and, having been at some big clubs where it was hard to get a game, I can't wait to get playing again."

The Faroes Islands stopper has previously been at Manchester City, but he only made one appearance at the Etihad Stadium.
