Chesham United stun MK Dons

Championship outfit MK Dons slip to a 2-1 defeat in their pre-season friendly against Chesham United.

Southern League Premier Division outfit Chesham United have earned a surprise 2-1 victory over Championship side MK Dons in a pre-season friendly this evening.

The visitors took the lead in the third minute when Kabongo Tshimanga latched on to a pass from Dale Jennings and fired past the keeper.

Jennings was involved again moments later when his through-ball found Tom Hitchcock, but the striker saw his attempt saved.

Chesham were then awarded a penalty after Ryan Blake was brought down inside the box by Joe Steele, and Toby Little stepped up to convert from the spot.

Hitchcock curled a free kick over and Jennings drilled a strike wide, as the Dons looked to regain their lead.

However, it was the hosts who went ahead nine minutes into the second half when Sam Youngs capitalised on a defensive mix-up, before chipping an effort past Cody Cropper.

Despite a spell of late pressure from the visitors, they were unable to find the net, as they suffered their first defeat of pre-season.
