Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly given a boost in the race to sign Anderson Talisca, with Besiktas not intending to sign the Benfica attacker on a permanent basis.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly been handed a boost in their efforts to sign Benfica attacker Anderson Talisca.

Since the arrival of owners Fosun International, Wolves have been frequently linked with Talisca, but the Brazilian has spent the last two seasons on loan at Besiktas.

The Turkish giants have the option to push through a permanent deal worth £18.3m but according to A Bola, a transfer is not expected to go through this summer.

Besiktas's decision leaves the 24-year-old in a position where he will return to parent club Benfica, but the development is only likely to lead to more interest in the player's signature.

Talisca has two years left on his contract but with Wolves - as well as Manchester United and Liverpool - said to be admirers, penning a new deal appears unlikely at this stage.

In two campaigns with Besiktas, Talisca has scored 33 goals in 71 appearances in all competitions.
