Robin van Persie has admitted that he may have to consider his future at Manchester United if he remains on the bench next season.
The 31-year-old was a regular for Louis van Gaal's men for the majority of the season before an ankle injury took him out of action.
However, on his return to fitness, the Dutchman was unable to break back into the starting lineup and joined Radamel Falcao on the sidelines, which Van Persie has conceded was a frustrating experience.
He is quoted as saying by The Mirror: "Have I spoken to Louis? I am sorry, but I can't go into that at this moment.
"I have now landed in a situation which I have never had to deal with before. I started the first 24 games of the season, had an injury, and then I wasn't put straight back into the team.
"This is something I really have to think about - the club too. I think we've both got a fair bit of homework to do in the summer. Could I cope with a similar situation like Falcao? I don't think I could."
Van Persie has been linked with a move to Lazio this summer.
