Manchester United linked with Roma defender Mehdi Benatia

Manchester United have been linked with a January bid for Roma defender Mehdi Benatia.

Red Devils manager David Moyes sees the Morocco international as the player to revitalise his ageing defence, according to the Daily Star.

Roma signed the centre-half from Serie A rivals Udinese over the summer, paying £11.3m for his services.

United are said to have monitored Benatia in the past, and have now renewed their interest ahead of the winter transfer window.
