Manchester United expect to make at least three more signings before this summer's transfer window closes for business, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly expecting to make at least three more signings before this summer's transfer window closes for business.

The Red Devils kicked off their summer spending with the acquisition of Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna, with Leny Yoro following soon after, as the centre-back arrived from Lille.

However, their business has been halted in recent weeks due to a lack of outgoings, with the club under pressure to make room in their squad for further additions.

According to the Manchester Evening News, despite the recent lack of movement, the 20-time English champions are planning to be very active in the final three weeks of the transfer window.

The report claims that the Red Devils want at least three more signings, with Bayern Munich duo Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt still being heavily linked with switches to Old Trafford.

Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite is also said to be a defensive target, while a recent report claimed that the Red Devils are in talks with free agent Mario Hermoso, who left Atletico Madrid at the end of June.

Man United are also keen to sign a new central midfielder, but a deal for Paris Saint-Germain's Manuel Ugarte has gone cold due to the French club's high valuation.

Burnley's Sander Berge is currently being linked with a switch to Old Trafford, but the Clarets are allegedly unwilling to let him leave for under £30m.

While a new midfielder is seen as a priority, Man United would also allegedly consider bringing in another attacker if Jadon Sancho leaves the club in the latter stages of the transfer market.

Man United 'could bring in another attacker' this summer

Sancho has patched-up his relationship with head coach Erik ten Hag and has been involved in his side's preparations for the 2024-25 campaign.

However, the Englishman continues to be linked with a switch to PSG, and he will reportedly be allowed to leave before the end of the month if a suitable offer arrives.

Man United boosted their attack with the signing of Zirkzee, who could make his Red Devils debut in Saturday's Community Shield fixture with Manchester City.

However, the Red Devils have lost Rasmus Hojlund until the middle of September due to a hamstring problem, while six defenders could be missing for Saturday's game against Pep Guardiola's side.

Man United will open their 2024-25 Premier League season with a clash against Fulham at Old Trafford on August 16.
