Real Madrid have no intention of re-signing Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo during this summer's transfer window, according to a report.

Real Madrid reportedly have no intention of re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo during this summer's transfer window.

The Portugal international is believed to have informed Manchester United that he wants to leave the club in the current market, as he is determined to continue playing Champions League football next term.

There have been suggestions that Real Madrid could attempt to re-sign the Portugal international, while Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid have all been credited with an interest.

However, Bayern, Chelsea and PSG have all allegedly decided against a summer move, while according to Marca, Real Madrid will not be bringing the 37-year-old back to Bernabeu in the current market.

The report claim that Man United are starting to accept that the Portuguese could leave this summer, but there have not been any meetings between Ronaldo and Los Blancos president Florentino Perez despite the recent rumours surrounding the forward's future.

Ronaldo did not travel with the Man United squad on their pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia due to a personal issue, which has remained private.

Man United head coach Erik ten Hag said earlier this week that he still does not know when the experienced forward will be back in training for the club.

"The same status as last week in Bangkok: no change. I cannot tell you (when he will be back at Carrington). No change in the issue. He is training. I think we all know Ronaldo is a top professional and he will be fit. That is the last concern I have," Ten Hag told reporters when questioned on the situation.

Ronaldo scored 24 goals and registered three assists in 37 appearances for Man United last season, but the club will not be in the Champions League in 2022-23, having finished sixth in the Premier League table.

"We are planning for Cristiano Ronaldo for the season and that's it," Ten Hag told recently reporters. "I'm looking forward to working with him. I have read [that he wants to leave], but what I say is Cristiano is not for sale, he is in our plans and we want success together.

"I spoke with him before this issue came up, I had a conversation with him and I had a good talk. That is between Cristiano and me. What I can confirm is we had a really good conversation together."

Ronaldo previously represented Real Madrid between 2009 and 2018, scoring 446 goals and registering 131 assists in 436 appearances for the Spanish giants in all competitions.

Meanwhile, during his two spells at Man United, he has scored 142 goals and registered 62 assists in 329 appearances, but it is unclear whether the attacker will pull on the club's famous shirt once again.

Ronaldo still has another 12 months left to run on his contract, with the option of another year, and Ten Hag recently claimed that the Portuguese could stay until the summer of 2024.

"I am well-informed he also has an option (to extend his contract), eh? Yes (he could stay beyond this season), but to be honest, of course I have signed here for three years, but in football it's short-term as well. We have to win from the start. So I don't look that far ahead," the Manchester Evening News quoted Ten Hag as saying.

Man United will play three more friendlies this summer against Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano before opening their Premier League season against Brighton & Hove Albion on August 7.
