Newcastle United are in the running to sign Donny van de Beek from Ajax, according to a report.
The Magpies are believed to be on the brink of a £300m Saudi-led takeover that would make them one of the richest clubs in the world.
United's prospective new owners are said to be after big-name recruits to mark their arrival at St James' Park, with Van de Beek among those being targeted.
The Netherlands international has been touted as a target for Real Madrid and Manchester United, but Le 10 Sport claims that Newcastle may also make a bid.
Van de Beek was rumoured to be close to agreeing terms with Madrid, but the player's agent admitted earlier this month that the coronavirus pandemic has left his future in limbo.
Following his impressive showings in Ajax's run to the Champions League semi-finals last year, the Dutchman has eight goals and five assists in the Eredivise this term.
