Gary Neville: 'Javier Hernandez cannot leave Manchester United yet'

Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes that the Red Devils cannot let Javier Hernandez leave without signing a replacement before the transfer deadline.

Gary Neville has claimed that Manchester United cannot let Javier Hernandez leave without signing a replacement before the transfer deadline.

Reports have emerged of Louis van Gaal telling the 27-year-old that he is free to leave Old Trafford before the window closes on Tuesday.

Neville, however, believes that his former club are in no position to sell Chicharito, as he is one of just three recognised strikers at the club with Wayne Rooney and James Wilson.

The 40-year-old told the Manchester Evening News: "The goalscoring is not what you expect from Manchester United. You can't go into the season with just one striker.

"There's talk of Hernandez leaving, or being allowed to leave. You can't see that happening without someone else coming in."

Hernandez has scored 59 goals in 157 appearances for the Premier League giants, but spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, where he scored nine in 33 matches.
