Manchester United will complete the signing of Barnsley youngster Mason Holgate, according to reports.

Manchester United will complete the signing of Barnsley youngster Mason Holgate today, according to reports.

The 18-year-old has been on trial at United during pre-season and the Daily Star claims that he will complete a £1m move.

The fullback made his debut for Barnsley last season, and played 20 games in League One. He will join the United development squad if the deal goes through.

He will become United's fifth signing of the season following the arrivals of Memphis Depay, Morgan Schneiderlin, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Matteo Darmian.
