Manchester United are ready to offload a trio of high-profile players in order to fund a move for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho when the transfer window reopens, according to a report.
The Red Devils have identified Sancho as their number one target for the upcoming window and are thought to be one of the frontrunners for his coveted signature.
However, executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward poured doubt on the deal last week by admitting that mega-money transfers are unlikely to happen in the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Daily Mail reports that United will subsequently look to raise funds by offloading players, including Paul Pogba, Alexis Sanchez and Jesse Lingard.
Pogba has been linked with moves to Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, and United could consider cashing in on their record signing having seen him make only eight appearances all season.
Sanchez is currently out on loan at Inter Milan and is deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, while Lingard has fallen down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and is yet to contribute a goal or an assist in 20 Premier League appearances this season.
The report claims that Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling - both of whom are out on loan at the moment - could also be sold, while the futures of Phil Jones and Andreas Pereira are in doubt too.
