Man Utd, Bayern Munich to battle for Leighton Baines?

Reports suggest that Manchester United and Bayern Munich are rivals for Everton left-back Leighton Baines.

Manchester United and Bayern Munich look set to lock horns over the signature of Everton defender Leighton Baines, according to the Daily Star.

The 27-year-old, who was recently named in the PFA Team of the Year, has been one of the Premier League's most consistent performers in recent years.

It is believed that Sir Alex Ferguson has been monitoring the England international for the last two seasons but now the Bundesliga giants have also reportedly entered the race.

The Red Devils have been linked with a £5m bid but, according to reports, the Toffees will not listen to anything below £15m for a valuable player with three years left on his contract.
