A Manchester United winger is reportedly attracting interest from a Brazilian club having seemingly fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

Brazilian giants Flamengo are reportedly interested in securing a deal for a Manchester United winger.

The footballing operations team at Old Trafford have just settled on keeping Erik ten Hag in charge of the Red Devils for the 2024-25 campaign.

United can now proceed with reaching final decisions over which players that they want to sell or loan in a bid to boost their position with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules.

That is required to enable United to pursue their own targets with more authority, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and co aware they cannot spend freely at the present time.

As a result, the North West outfit are open to offers for a number of their players, some of whom have already spent time away on a temporary basis.

Flamengo keen on Pellistri

According to Uruguayan journalist Sebas Giovanelli, Flamengo are interested in handing Facundo Pellistri a return to South American football.

Despite the reputation as a top prospect upon his arrival at United in 2020, Pellistri has been provided with just one start in the Premier League, a further 12 outings coming from the substitutes' bench.

Ten Hag only sparingly used the 22-year-old during the first half of this campaign before he was allowed to make the loan switch to Granada.

For the first time during his spell in Europe, Pellistri was viewed as a regular starter, making 14 starts and one substitute appearance in La Liga.

However, the Uruguay international would contribute just two goals and two assists with his team also being relegated from Spain's top flight.

Pellistri to join a title charge?

If Pellistri did move to Flamengo, he would be linking up with a team that are managed by former Brazil coach Tite.

Flamengo have been terrific since his arrival, winning 28 of his 42 matches in charge, and the Scarlet-Black currently sit in second position in the league standings.

Nevertheless, scoring just 16 goals in nine games indicates that there is room for improvement in the final third, and Pellistri may feel that there is an opportunity to succeed.

With just one year remaining on his contract, United are unlikely to stand in the player's way should they receive a proposal close to the €8.5m that they shelled out four years ago.
