Jesse Lingard will reportedly not be sold by Manchester United before Tuesday's 11pm transfer deadline.
The England international has been widely expected to complete a permanent move to West Ham United after bagging nine goals and five assists during a stellar loan spell last term.
Furthermore, with Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo arriving at Old Trafford this summer, Lingard's opportunities under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this term could be limited.
West Ham have made no secret of their desire to sign Lingard permanently, but the Evening Standard claims that Lingard is set to remain at Man United for the time being.
The report adds that West Ham did not table a suitable offer for Lingard's services, and Solskjaer is happy to give the 28-year-old the chance to prove himself in the coming months.
Lingard's existing United deal is still due to expire at the end of the current season, though, and he has only played four minutes so far in the 2021-22 Premier League campaign.
