Paul Ince: 'Paul Pogba perfect fit for Manchester United'

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba would be "a perfect fit" for Manchester United, according to former Red Devils midfielder Paul Ince.

Paul Pogba would be "a perfect fit" for Manchester United, according to former Red Devils midfielder Paul Ince.

Pogba joined Man United from Le Havre in 2009, but left on a free transfer three years later after failing to agree a contract with the Premier League club, who at the time were reluctant to break their wage structure for a teenager.

Now 23, Pogba has developed into one of the best midfielders in the world at Juventus and it is understood that Man United want to re-sign the Frenchman in this summer's transfer window.

Ince has said that Sir Alex Ferguson "would have been disappointed" to lose the youngster, but re-signing the France international 'sends out the right signal', according to the 48-year-old.

"Alex Ferguson would have been disappointed to have lost him at such a young age. But I think his style of football will suit the Premier League more than the Spanish league," Ince told Sky Sports News.

"I remember when I first went to Inter in Serie A and I was that kind of aggressive player and every time I made a tackle I was getting booked, that was frustrating. So Pogba now coming into a league where it is tough, where he can show what he's all about, I think is a perfect fit for him and for Man United.

"Who he plays alongside, whether it's [Michael] Carrick, [Morgan] Schneiderlin or [Bastian] Schweinsteiger – I don't know. But if United can get Pogba then that sends out the signal that we are really going for it this year."

It is believed that Man United will have to pay a world-record £100m to sign Pogba after Euro 2016.
