Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic 'wanted AC Milan move'

Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic wanted to return to AC Milan in the summer, according to film directors who worked on Becoming Zlatan.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic had his heart set on a return to AC Milan before joining Manchester United in the summer, according to two film directors who worked closely with the striker.

The former Sweden international signed a one-year deal with the Red Devils after winding down his contract at Paris Saint-Germain following a four-year spell.

Before Ibrahimovic decided on his next club, it was widely reported that the 35-year-old could return to Milan, where he scored 56 goals in 85 appearances for the club between 2010 and 2012.

In the end, he moved to the Premier League, but Swedish directors Magnus Gertten and Fredrik Gertten, who worked on independent film Becoming Zlatan, have claimed that Ibrahimovic would be back at San Siro had the "right offer" been tabled.

"Ibrahimovic loves Italy. This summer he wanted to return," the directors told Corriere dello Sport. "If AC Milan and the Rossoneri had made the right offer, he would have returned without problems.

"His family is very attached to the city of Milan and Italy."

Ibrahimovic has scored seven goals in all competitions for United so far this season.
