Southampton defender Jose Fonte will reportedly sign a new contract with the club in the coming days, ending speculation of a move to Manchester United.
The Red Devils had been credited with an interest in the 32-year-old, who was a key part of the Portugal side that triumphed at Euro 2016 this summer.
However, Southampton boss Claude Puel has repeatedly insisted that Fonte is happy at the club and will not be sold before next Wednesday's transfer deadline.
The Saints have offered the captain a new contract in a bid to entice him to stay, and The Mirror reports that Fonte has chosen to commit his future to the club.
Fonte's old contract was not due to expire until 2018, but Southampton are understood to have offered him new terms for the final two years, taking his wage from £45,000 a week to £75,000.
