Rio Ferdinand hints at Manchester United move for Bruno Fernandes

Former Manchester United captain Rio Ferdinand fuels rumours linking the Red Devils with a move for Bruno Fernandes.

Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a deal for Sporting Lisbon attacker Bruno Fernandes.

The Portugal international was strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford during the summer, but United were unable to come to an agreement with Sporting in terms of a fee.

The English club's problems in midfield have seen the rumours resurface, though, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are allegedly in a strong position to sign the 25-year-old.

Former United captain Rio Ferdinand has taken to social media to comment on the speculation, suggesting that the 20-time English champions are on the verge of completing a deal for the Portuguese.

Fernandes enjoyed an impressive 2018-19 campaign for Sporting and has again been in fine form this term, contributing 13 goals and 13 assists in 24 appearances in all competitions.

United will be looking to bounce back from a three-game winless run in all competitions when they welcome Norwich City to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
