Cristiano Ronaldo 'approaches Real Madrid over possible return'

Juventus attacker Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly approached Real Madrid over a possible return to the Bernabeu amid the recent speculation surrounding his future.

The 35-year-old has a contract in Turin until the summer of 2022, but it has been suggested that Juve could look to move him on at the end of the 2020-21 campaign to reduce their wage budget.

According to Marca, Ronaldo is open to the idea of returning to Madrid and has been in contact with Los Blancos to discuss a possible move when he leaves Juve.

The report claims that the Portugal international has had a poor relationship with the Spanish champions since his exit in 2018 but is keen to rebuild bridges.

Ronaldo, who has also been linked with a return to Manchester United, has scored 71 times in 94 appearances for the Old Lady, including six goals in five outings this term despite spending time on the sidelines after testing positive for coronavirus.

The forward managed 450 goals in 438 appearances for Los Blancos, meanwhile, winning two La Liga titles and four Champions League crowns during a hugely successful period in the Spanish capital.
