Manchester United reportedly make signing Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale the club's 'main objective' for the summer transfer window.

Manchester United have reportedly identified the signing of Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale as the club's "main objective" for the summer transfer window.

After coming off the bench to score a stunning overhead kick against Liverpool in the Champions League final, Bale wasted no time in indicating that he was disappointed with only being named as a substitute by boss Zinedine Zidane.

The Welsh superstar has said that he does not want to remain on the sidelines for the Spanish giants, and that has resulted in a number of Premier League clubs being linked with an approach ahead of next season.

United appear to be the most likely destination for the 28-year-old - if he leaves Real - and according to AS, the North-West giants are prioritising the signing of the player this summer.

However, the report suggests that only an offer of £121m will lead to Real contemplating the sale of Bale, whom they signed for £85m from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.

During that time, Bale - whose contract at the Bernabeu lasts until 2022 - has netted 88 goals in 189 appearances.
