Sports Mole's Premier League Team of the Week

There was plenty of superb Premier League action to sink your teeth into this weekend, with some eye-catching results thrown in for good measure.

Manchester United got back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory at Sunderland, while Arsenal went back to the top of the league with a 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion.

Liverpool kept up their impressive start to the season as they brushed aside Crystal Palace 3-1, and there was also a shock at White Hart Lane with West Ham United beating Tottenham Hotspur 3-0.

Meanwhile, there were vital victories elsewhere for Chelsea, Manchester City, Newcastle United, Fulham and Southampton.

Here, Sports Mole picks out the 11 players who made their mark.

Artur Boruc (Southampton)
Despite a 2-0 win for the Saints at home to Swansea City, the Polish goalkeeper came to his side's rescue on a number of occasions to help them claim a third straight victory.

Sascha Riether (Fulham)
Two goal-line clearances from the full-back gave the Cottagers a huge help on their way to getting only their second win of the season against Stoke City.
Winston Reid (West Ham United)
Reid was part of a solid defence at White Hart Lane during West Ham's surprise 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur. Not only that, but the New Zealand international bagged the visitors' opening goal.
Patrice Evra (Manchester United)
Evra put in one of his most effective attacking performances of the campaign so far for the champions as they came from behind to earn an important win at Sunderland.

Ravel Morrison (West Ham United)
The youngster, who has had plenty of off-field problems in the past few years, scored a superb solo effort for the Hammers in their shock triumph at Tottenham.
Youssouf Mulumbu (West Bromwich Albion)
Mulumbu was at his hustling best in midfield against Arsenal, stifling the Gunners as the Baggies picked up a point against the league leaders.
Claudio Yacob (West Bromwich Albion)
Along with Mulumbu, Yacob worked his socks off for West Brom in their draw with Arsenal, scoring his first goal for the club to put them ahead at The Hawthorns.
David Silva (Manchester City)
The Spaniard pulled the strings for Manchester City in their win over Everton, drifting from left to right to give the Toffees plenty of problems.
Adnan Januzaj (Manchester United)
Full Premier League debuts do not come much better than the one 18-year-old Januzaj had against Sunderland, scoring two goals to dig United out of a hole at the Stadium of Light.

Loic Remy (Newcastle United)
The French striker was lethal in the Welsh capital as his two goals helped Newcastle bag three important points against Cardiff City.
Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool)
Sturridge continues to look the real deal at Liverpool, with an eighth goal in nine games helping the Reds see off Crystal Palace in style.

Numpty of the week

John Ruddy: With the game finely poised at 1-1 between Norwich City and Chelsea, the Canaries goalkeeper let Eden Hazard's tame effort creep under his body and into the net. His side went on to lose the match 3-1.

Ravel Morrison (West Ham United) vs. Tottenham Hotspur: Morrison's strike against Spurs was a thing of beauty as he danced past the home defence with the grace of a gazelle before clipping the ball past Hugo Lloris.
