Legendary Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has admitted that he came "very close" to joining Manchester United during his career.
The Rotherham-born stopper made the switch to Highbury from Queens Park Rangers in 1990 and remained with the Gunners for 13 years.
Seaman is quoted by the Daily Star as saying: "Yes, I was very close [to joining Man Utd]. Before I went to Arsenal, I had the choice of Man United or Arsenal.
"I was living in London with my family and everything so that's why I chose Arsenal. I loved my time at Arsenal, there was never any question of me leaving. Plus we were winning things so it does help."
Seaman won three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, a League Cup, four Community Shields and a UEFA Cup Winners' Cup with Arsenal.
