Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney will reportedly be fit for the Premier League clash with Manchester City next Monday.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will reportedly select Wayne Rooney for the Premier League clash with Manchester City next Monday.

The 27-year-old missed the FA Cup defeat to Chelsea on Monday with a groin injury, which he picked up on international duty with England.

However, according to Goal.com, Ferguson will risk Rooney's fitness for the league clash, which could all but secure United the title in front of their own supporters.

Rooney has scored eight goals in 12 matches since the turn of the year.
