England coach Gary Neville insists that his former Manchester United teammate Wayne Rooney can become an even better player.

Gary Neville has insisted that there is still room for improvement in Wayne Rooney's game.

Manchester United striker Rooney is considered by many pundits to be the best player that England currently has available for selection.

However, England coach Neville feels that there is even more to come from his former teammate at Old Trafford.

"At the age of 26, you always have to think that there's more to come," Neville told BBC Radio 5 live. "We need to see Wayne Rooney improve and he needs to see himself improve."

"He's a wonderful player, one that is at his best when he's like the street kid."

Rooney scored twice as England defeated San Marino 5-0 on Friday night.
