Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes says that he has no regrets about "shushing" Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola during the derby clash on Sunday.

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has suggested that he has no regrets about his reaction towards Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola on Sunday afternoon.

When being substituted during the latter stages of the derby showdown at Old Trafford, Fernandes "shushed" Guardiola, seemingly in response to something said by the Spaniard.

While the playmaker says that he respects Guardiola, the 25-year-old has insisted that the senior man in the opposition dugout deserved his reaction at the weekend.

Speaking to Football Daily, Fernandes said: "I talked about it with some friends. Some people think like, Pep won everything, who is Bruno to do this to him?

"But at that moment, the words he told me made me mad and on the pitch I'm a little bit nervous. It's the kind of player I am. I have respect for Pep and what he wins and what he did for football, because he changed some mentalities in football.

"But I think in that moment, he didn't respect me, so he didn't deserve my respect at that moment on the pitch."

Fernandes has contributed three goals and three assists since signing for United during the January transfer window.
