Alex Ferguson believes that Nick Powell has a good future in the game after his debut goal against Wigan.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has tipped 18-year-old Nick Powell as a star for the future after the youngster scored in today's 4-0 win against Wigan Athletic.

Ferguson, who signed Powell from Crewe Alexander this summer, was full of praise for the midfielder's all-round abilities in his impressive debut.

"He's going to be a really good player, the boy," Ferguson told MUTV.

"He's got two good feet and he can strike a ball."

Powell has represented England at all levels up to Under-19.
