David de Gea says that Manchester United have the ability to keep hold of their lead in the Premier League.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has urged his teammates to resume focus on the Premier League following the club's disappointing exit from the Europa League.

The Red Devils failed to clinch a place in the quarter-finals of the European competition after losing to Athletic Bilbao 5-3 on aggregate.

Despite a poor stint in Europe, the English champions are top of the table in the league, with a one-point advantage over bitter rivals Manchester City.

"It is very important for us now to try and secure the Premier League," said De Gea. "We are first. We are the leaders. Manchester City are in good form, but we have the team and the supporters to win the league.

"We have a big game coming up at Wolves on Sunday and that is what we must concentrate on now."

United have ten domestic fixtures left to keep hold of their lead and retain the Premier League trophy.
