min: Today's referee is Anthony Taylor, and it is Wolves who get us underway this afternoon.

min: It's a lively start from the home side as Ronald Zubar advances down the right, but his cross is too long for Kevin Doyle.

min: Wolves enjoying much of the early possession on this sunny afternoon in the Midlands.

min: It's an interesting selection for Manchester United this afternoon, with Javier Hernandez joining Wayne Rooney in attack, while Danny Welbeck will play from the left.

min: United so nearly take the lead after good work from Rafael, but the Brazilian's cross just eluded Hernandez in the centre of the box.

min: Wolves register their first shot of the afternoon through Doyle, but his drive is comfortably gathered by David de Gea in the United goal.

min: United are beginning to carve out some chances after a slow start, and Michael Carrick just drags his shot wide from outside the area after good work from Rooney.

min: The evergreen Paul Scholes is seeing plenty of the ball as the half progresses, with the veteran showing his passing range on more than one occasion.

min: Penalty shout from Wolves as Rafael brings Matthew Jarvis down in the box, but the referee shakes his head. Better from the home side.

min: Glorious chance for Wolves as Jarvis whips a dangerous cross into the box, but Steven Fletcher's header is just wide of the post.

min: It is very apparent in the early stages of the match that Wolves boss Terry Connor has advised the home side to search for the head of Fletcher at every opportunity.

min: GOAL! Wolves 0-1 Manchester United (Evans)

Manchester United take the lead courtesy of Jonny Evans, who turns in a corner from close range after Carrick had found the defender in the area. The goal is United's 100th in all competitions this season.

min: The goal has really lifted the away side, with Welbeck and Antonio Valencia both looking dangerous down the right side of the pitch.

min: The early energy seems to have been sucked out of Wolves, the opening goal has really hurt them.

min: Good work from Rooney and Welbeck moves United into the middle of the pitch, with Ronald Zubar bringing the former down with a heavy challenge just outside the box.

min: The free kick comes to nothing, and Wolves immediately move down the other end of the pitch and gain a free kick of their own as Rafael brings down Doyle outside the box, but it comes to nothing.

min: Exceptional display of ability from Rooney as he finds Hernandez with a brilliant pass, but the little Mexican is offside.

min: Wolves waste another free kick in a dangerous position, with Jarvis's cross coming to nothing.

min: Sloppy play from Wolves almost presents the away side with the chance to advance on goal, but David Davis denies Hernandez at the final moment.

min: United are looking comfortable in the latter stages of the half here, with De Gea a spectator for large periods.

min: Wolves down to ten! Red card for Zubar as he brings down Welbeck with a dangerous challenge, the Wolves defender is given his second yellow card of the match, and with it, his marching orders.

min: The home side's challenge has just been made a great deal harder with the dismissal of Zubar, who has really dropped his team in it this afternoon.

min: Good work from Jarvis gives Wolves a corner in the latter stages of the half, as Davis is replaced by Eggert Jonsson.

min: GOAL! Wolves 0-2 Manchester United (Valencia)

Brilliant counter attack from the away side as Rooney finds Valencia, and the United winger drives into the box before striking the ball past Wayne Hennessey.

min: GOAL! Wolves 0-3 Manchester United (Welbeck)

Welbeck makes it 3-0 to the champions with a cool finish from inside the area after Valencia had found the England international with a fine cross.

HALF-TIME: Wolves 0-3 Manchester United

Anthony Taylor calls time on the opening half of football with Manchester United leading ten-man Wolves 3-0. Evans opened the scoring for the away side, before Zubar was dismissed for Wolves late in the half. United well and truly capitalised on the dismissal, and added two late strikes through Valencia and Welbeck. Can Wolves turn it around in the second period or is it damage limitation? Our report of the opening 45 minutes of football can be found here.

min: We are underway here in the second half with Wolves trailing United 3-0.

min: It's United who gain early control of the possession in the second period, with Valencia seeing plenty of the ball.

min: The dilemma Wolves have is whether they decide to search for a way back into the match, or whether they should take up a defensive position and hope to keep the score at a minimum.

min: Fletcher remains isolated in the home side's attack, with the Scot feeding on scraps. It's United with possession once more.

min: It's good work from Wolves, and they have gained a free kick in an advanced position after good possession football...but once more it comes to nothing.

min: Rooney so nearly makes it 4-0 to United after a strike from outside the box, but Hennessey makes a smart save.

min: GOAL! Wolves 0-4 Manchester United (Hernandez)

It's really poor marking from Wolves as Rafael finds Hernandez in the area, and the Mexican heads into the top corner.

min: So nearly five for the away side as Rooney looks for Hernandez with a cross, but the Mexican just fails to make contract.

min: GOAL! Wolves 0-5 Manchester United (Hernandez)

It's a really great goal for United with Welbeck combining with Valencia, and the winger finds Hernandez in the area, who makes no mistake with a powerful finish from close range.

min: You can't help but feel for Wolves, who are such a well respected club at this level, but this score really could be anything today as United continue to attack.

min: Paul Pogba and Fabio have been introduced for the away side, as Wolves substitute Michael Kightly brings a fine save from De Gea. Great response from the home side.

min: Wolves so nearly add their first of the afternoon, but Richard Stearman just couldn't turn the ball into the net at the far post.

min: It's nearly six for United but Stearman produces a fine block to deny Rooney on the edge of the area.

min: Valencia has been simply stunning this afternoon for United, what a big player he will prove to be in the title run-in. Goalscorer Evans has been replaced by Chris Smalling as the away side continue to keep possession.

min: Fabio is next to go close for United, but his effort is just wide of the post.

min: Fletcher is being replaced for Wolves by Sylvan Ebanks-Blake for the final 15 minutes of play.

min: Hennessey makes another smart save to deny Welbeck from extending United's lead from close range.

min: United come close to their sixth through Hernandez, but the Mexican's path is blocked by Stearman.

min: Wolves have understandably tired in the latter stages, as United continue to threaten to extend their lead through Pogba and Rooney.

min: It's still one-way traffic here in the final moments at Molineux, as Hernandez comes close to his third with a header.

min: United enjoy yet more possession in the final stages of the match, with Wolves chasing shadows. We will play two more minutes.

FULL-TIME: Wolves 0-5 Manchester United

So there we have it, Manchester United move four points clear at the top of the Premier League table after a comfortable 5-0 win over Wolves, who drop to the bottom of the table. It's the home side's sixth consecutive loss on their own patch, as United continue to march on. A full report of the match can be found here.
