Half-Time Report: Manchester United trail Paris Saint-Germain at half time

Goals from Blaise Matuidi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic give Paris Saint-Germain a 2-0 half-time lead over Manchester United.

Manchester United's final pre-season game is not going to plan as they trail Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 at half time.

The Ligue 1 champions started on the front foot and should have taken an early lead when a weak David de Gea clearance went straight to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but he placed his shot over the bar.

United responded well as a neat move saw Wayne Rooney set up Memphis Depay, but he shot wide from the edge of the box.

Ibrahimovic wasted another great chance when he headed wide from close range, before United's Juan Mata had a goal ruled out for offside.

PSG took the lead minutes later when Blaise Matuidi broke the offside trap before prodding home past De Gea.

Laurent Blanc's men looked dangerous in attack throughout the half, and doubled their lead just after the half-hour mark as Maxwell crossed for Ibrahimovic to tap in.

Depay came close to pulling one back for United with a free kick which forced Kevin Trapp into a save, but that was the closest they came to scoring.
