Project Restart: Crystal Palace's remaining 2019-20 Premier League fixtures

Ahead of the Premier League restart next week, Sports Mole looks at the remaining fixtures facing Crystal Palace.

Before the Premier League was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, Crystal Palace put together the kind of run which took them from relegation candidates to contenders for a European place.

Roy Hodgson witnessed his side record three successive 1-0 victories against Newcastle United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Watford, moving the club into 11th position in the standings.

Now 12 points ahead of the bottom three, the Eagles will have their sights on sixth-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are only four points ahead of the London outfit.

With an away fixture against Bournemouth on June 20, Hodgson will feel that his side must hit the ground running when it comes to making up further ground on the teams above them, especially with a trip to Liverpool to follow four days later.

A showdown with Burnley at Selhurst Park comes next in a game which could be perceived to be a six-pointer with regards to that section of the table, and Palace will want to capitalise given the difficulty of their closing half-a-dozen encounters.

Aside from a trip to struggling Aston Villa, Palace take on five of the Premier League's top eight, which includes trips to Leicester City and Wolves.

While Palace have a strong record away from home, three of their final four matches on their travels are against teams occupying spots in the top six.

The run-in on familiar territory is no easier with Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur all due at Selhurst Park in July.
