Manchester United duo Paul Scholes and Michael Owen were absent from training this morning.
As a result, the former England internationals are not expected to play any part in United's Europa League tie with Spanish side Athletic Bilbao tomorrow evening at Old Trafford.
Owen has only just recovered from a thigh problem and may have suffered a setback, while the reason for Scholes's absence has not been revealed.
Antonio Valencia was present at the club's Carrington training complex, although he trained away from the squad as he steps up his return from a hamstring injury.
