Champions League group seeds finalised

The top eight seeds for the group stages of next season's Champions League have been finalised.

The top eight seeds for next season's Champions League group stages have been confirmed.

UEFA have opted to alter the process from previous years, which has seen the highest ranked sides kept apart.

However, under the new regime, only the champions of Europe's biggest leagues have been given the number one spot.

Chelsea, Juventus, Bayern Munich and PSV Eindhoven were all crowned winners of their respective divisions earlier this month, while more recently Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Benfica and Zenit St Petersburg all claimed the main prize in their countries.

As a result, it means that the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United - providing that they advance through the qualifiers - could face the likes of Barca and Munich in the group phase of the competition.
