Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Copenhagen

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Tuesday's Champions League clash with Copenhagen.

Seeking to right their recent wrongs in the Champions League, Manchester United welcome Danish giants Copenhagen to Old Trafford for Tuesday's Group A encounter.

Erik ten Hag's men are still without a single point in Europe's premier tournament this term, suffering painful losses to Galatasaray and Bayern Munich to sit bottom of the section.

However, the Red Devils have restored a sense of pride with back-to-back Premier League wins, overcoming Brentford and Sheffield United either side of the international break.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the visit of Copenhagen, who occupy third place in the group with one point to their name.

Luke Shaw

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: Unknown

Left-back Luke Shaw remains a long-term absentee with the muscular issue he sustained against Tottenham Hotspur in August, and the Englishman is unlikely to return until after the third international break of the season next month.

Tyrell Malacia

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: November 26 (vs. Everton)

Fellow left-back Tyrell Malacia has been sidelined with a knee problem since the summer - apparently undergoing an operation on the issue - and it will be another few weeks at least before the Dutchman is back in the fold.

Lisandro Martinez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: January 13 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Lisandro Martinez's 2022-23 season was cut short by a foot injury, and the Argentine has now undergone a second procedure on the problem, meaning that he is not expected to play again until January.

Amad Diallo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Amad Diallo was ruled out for the first part of the 2023-24 season after suffering a knee injury in pre-season, and there is still no indication as to when the Ivorian attacker might be seen in a Man United shirt again.

Kobbie Mainoo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: November 1 (vs. Newcastle United)

Kobbie Mainoo is being put through his paces at Carrington as he works his way back from an ankle injury, and while this game will come too soon, there is hope that the talented teenager might be back in action at some point in November.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: November 4 (vs. Fulham)

Ten Hag recently revealed that Aaron Wan-Bissaka is not too far away from returning to training following the muscular injury he picked up last month, but the right-back will not be available for at least another couple of weeks.

Sergio Reguilon

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: October 24 (vs. Copenhagen)

Sergio Reguilon was not given the green light to play against Sheffield United, but the left-back is now in the final stages of his recovery from a hamstring problem and should be included in the squad this week.

MANCHESTER UNITED SUSPENSION LIST

Casemiro

Return date: October 24 (vs. Manchester City)

Being put in a no-win situation by a strange choice of pass from goalkeeper Andre Onana, Casemiro - who missed the win over Sheffield United with an ankle issue - was forced to bring down Galatasaray's Dries Mertens inside the box on matchday two and was sent off for a second bookable offence, rendering him unavailable for the visit of Copenhagen.

In addition, Jadon Sancho remains ostracised from the first team amid his public feud with Ten Hag, and the winger will not be involved in the European affair either.
