How Juventus could line up against Manchester United

Sports Mole looks at how Juventus could line up for the visit of Manchester United as they look to seal their place in the Champions League last 16 with two games left.

Juventus could guarantee top spot in Group H with two games to spare when they welcome Manchester United to Turin in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Italian giants eased to a 1-0 victory at Old Trafford last month to maintain their 100% start to the group stages, and even a draw on Wednesday would be enough to book their place in the last 16.

Juve have won 13 and lost none of their 14 games across all competitions so far this term and could extend what is already their best-ever start to a season with another three points against Jose Mourinho's side.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Massimiliano Allegri could set his side out for the game.

Possible JUV XI vs. MNU

Out: Emre Can (ill)
Doubtful: Douglas Costa (adductor), Blaise Matuidi (hip), Mario Mandzukic (ankle)

Much of the pre-match focus will again shine on former Manchester United man Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been in typically deadly form for Juve this season but drew a blank at Old Trafford.

Paulo Dybala scored the winner that day to make it four in the Champions League this season, and the Argentine is expected to lead the line once again with Mario Mandzukic still a major doubt due to the ankle injury he sustained in the buildup to the reverse fixture.

Douglas Costa and Blaise Matuidi both picked up injuries during the 3-1 win over Cagliari at the weekend and are consequently doubtful for this game.

Juan Cuadrado could replace Costa, while Sami Khedira could come in for Matuidi should the France World Cup winner fail to recover from his bruised hip in time.

Giorgio Chiellini and Federico Bernardeschi both took part in personalised training programmes on Sunday, but are expected to be fit for United's visit.
