Neymar confirms Manchester City interest

Barcelona forward Neymar admits that he has been contacted by Manchester City over a potential transfer to the Premier League.

Neymar has confirmed that he has been contacted by Manchester City about a possible move to the Premier League.

The 23-year-old forward has been with Spanish champions Barcelona since 2013 and has a reported release clause of around £140m, a figure which is unlikely to faze the deep-pocketed Citizens.

Speaking to Spanish publication AS at Barcelona's El Prat airport on Sunday morning, Neymar replied "yes, yes" when asked if the City rumours were true.

Asked if he is considering a switch to England, he added: "You never know, life is long."

However, the Brazilian went on to confirm that negotiations are ongoing with Barcelona over a new contract and that he was "optimistic" terms could be agreed.

Neymar has scored 45 times in 72 league appearances for Luis Enrique's side.
