Leigh Griffiths and Ryan McGivern are to remain at Hibernian for the rest of the season after their loan deals are extended.

Hibernian have confirmed that Leigh Griffiths and Ryan McGivern will remain at the club on loan for the rest of the season.

Griffiths, who plays as a forward, had been due to return to parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers this week, while defender McGivern was scheduled to head back to Manchester City this month.

The striker told BBC Sport: "This season has been the most enjoyable of my career so far and I'm really pleased to be staying at Hibs.

"Now the loan deal has been extended I can focus on my football and repay the club and the manager for continuing to show their faith in me."

McGivern added: "Ever since I moved here to Hibs, I've felt part of the club and I'm really pleased to be able to stay here until the end of the season."

Griffiths has scored 14 goals for the club this season, while McGivern has been a regular in the first team.
