Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini had a verbal bust-up with winger Adam Johnson following the conclusion of Wednesday's Carling Cup tie against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Johnson, who scored in the 5-2 victory, is believed to have been unhappy with his manager's comments about his performance during a post-match interview, according to The Daily Star.
The report claims that the 24-year-old was so angry that he initially refused to board the team coach.
It is the second incident between the pair in recent matches, following Mancini's decision to substitute the England international before the half-time whistle against Villarreal.
