Roberto Mancini demands more from Adam Johnson

Roberto Mancini wants more from Adam Johnson after the winger's man-of-the-match display for Manchester City against Wolves.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini believes that Adam Johnson can still improve after the winger's man-of-the-match performance against Wolves.

Johnson scored one goal and set up two more during City's 5-2 Carling Cup win at Molineux.

However, Mancini has criticised the player's attitude in the past and he believes that the 24-year-old still has plenty to learn.

"Sometimes Adam thinks 'okay, in this game I scored one goal, I did an assist and that's enough'," said Mancini.

"But I think Adam can improve a lot because he is young. He needs to think in a different way. He needs to think 'I scored one goal, I did one assist but I should continue because I want to score another goal, make another assist and run back to defend'.

"He can do this if he wants. My opinion is that he has everything to become one of the top wingers."

Johnson joined City from Middlesbrough in 2009.
