Manchester City could reportedly hand Roma legend Daniele De Rossi the chance to become part of Pep Guardiola's coaching staff at the Etihad Stadium next season.
De Rossi has made more than 600 appearances for Roma during a glittering career but will leave the Italian giants on a free transfer at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.
The Italian is yet to reveal whether he will be retiring from professional football.
However, according to Calciomercato, City believe that the 36-year-old will be hanging up his boots and are keen to hire him as a coach heading into the new season.
De Rossi was strongly linked with a move to the Premier League earlier in his career.
The experienced midfielder ultimately remained with I Giallorossi, though, and sits second behind Francesco Totti in the all-time appearance list for the club.
