Vincent Kompany eyes Manchester derby win

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany reveals that he is desperate to beat Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Monday.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has revealed that he is desperate to beat Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Monday.

The defending champions will start the game 15 points behind their rivals in the table with eight matches left to play.

Despite City's title chances looking slim, Kompany is eager to end the season on a high in order to start the next campaign with a winning mentality.

"It would be nice to challenge them on their turf again," Kompany told The Mirror.

"A derby is a derby. I don't think we could care less about the league in that game. It's about who is going to be champions of Manchester. That's all it is.

"Whichever way we finish this season might set us up for the next one. The end of one season has an impact on how you start the next one."

City were beaten 3-2 by United when the two sides met at the Etihad Stadium in December.
