Manchester City reportedly prepare a one-year contract extension for manager Pep Guardiola.

Manchester City are reportedly hoping to open contract talks with manager Pep Guardiola at the end of the season.

The Spaniard's existing deal will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2019 but, according to The Times, the club's hierarchy are keen to tie him down for an additional year.

Guardiola, who guided City to Premier League and EFL Cup success this season, is said to be happy in Manchester and open to the possibility of extending his stay until 2020.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich head coach took over at the Sky Blues in 2016, entering a three-year contract worth £15m per season.

Recent reports suggest that the club will hand him a £200m transfer kitty this summer to bankroll his defence of the Premier League title and launch a fresh assault on the Champions League.
